Boots are used for many purposes like in extreme temperature, damaging radiation, ankle support, sharp work, physical abrasion etc. In many construction sites, it is mandatory to wear boots along with a uniform.

Boots are designed for a special purpose that is it meant for walking in rain, snow, mud, dirt etc. Gumboots come in different variants with water-resistant features. Boots have become a fashion statement as well. Boots are usually worn with socks so that blisters can be avoided, improve the grip of the foot, prevents sweat etc. Boots are used for ice-skating, sporting, riding, skiing, snowboarding etc.
