Next, there is the line of Essential products belonging to Western Digital. The My Book Essential has essentially the same features as the My Book Elite ‘“ but it does have an extra feature which is the capacity gauge. It also has the WD SmartWare backup software and password protection. It is available from 500 GB to 2 TB capacities, and can be used by both Windows and Mac users. The corresponding USB drive model is the My Passport Essential SE and the My Passport Essential line of products. They come in 320 to 640 GB capacities, and are also suitable for Windows and Mac users.
