Food is cultivating by farmers in many ways. But to cultivate, some steps are necessary. In the whole population, very few people choosing farming as an occupation. Seeds and pits are the basic steps behind the roots of cultivation. Seed is a part of the seed plant. Pits are the thinner layers formed on the cells and, it is a part of the fruits that protect the seeds.

Seeds vs Pits

The main difference between seeds and pits is that Pits are just a part of fruits that protects the seed up to the growth period. Seeds are ovule containing embryos. In seed plants, seed formation is a part of the reproduction process.

Seeds are the outcome product of repined ovule. From the integuments of the ovule, the seed coat and embryo had developed and, the fertilization by pollen and growth of the mother plant takes place. In the end, seeds had produced. Seed formation is a part of the seed plant, which helps to form a new plant. The seed plant undergoes a reproduction process from a seed. Seeds in a seed plant include spermophytes, gymnosperms and angiosperm plants. Seeds contain a high rate of proteins, oil and starch, which helps in plant growth. In world occupancy, the primary food sources with these reserves are cereals and legumes.

Pits are popularly known as the thinner portion of the cells that exchange the fluid in adjacent cells. Pits contain in the human body and food. According to the food, pits are a part of the fruits that protects the seed. Pits are the primary cell walls or membrane between the adjacent cells and, these are the characteristic of cell walls contains the secondary layer. Pits are the typical feature of the xylem, where liquid flows through the pits of the xylem cells.

What are Seeds?

Seed is a part of a seed plant. Seeds undergo the reproduction process in the seed plant. These are the product of repined ovule and also known as ovule containing an embryo. These help in the development of a new plant from seed plants. Over 400 million years ago, scientists found that seeds are the germinating resources for new plants. The first plant to use seeds is Elksinia polymorpha. The population in the world prefers the seeds to eat for good health.

Considering all the types of seeds, these are divided into 4 types. They are Dicotyledonous Exalbuminous Seeds, Dicotyledonous Albuminous seeds, Monocotyledonous Exalbuminous seeds and Monocotyledonous Albuminous seeds. Seeds are rich in proteins. Seeds usually contain healthy fats, fibre, vitamins like B1, B2, B3, and Vitamin E. These also consist the minerals like magnesium, plant iron, zinc, potassium and calcium. Seeds occupy high sources of fibre, which helps to control and reduce blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol. Several seeds can help with different types of health problems. Serving 200 calories of seeds per day helps in maintaining good health.

What are Pits?

The word pit had different types of meanings. Pits are not only present in plants and food items but also present in the human body. The thinner portions of the cell are known as Pits. These are the secondary layers of characteristic cell walls. In the plant cells, the thickness had reduced by the pits field. Pits are the part of a fruit that protects the seed up to the growth period. One billion years ago, scientists found pits and their importance in plants. Pits are the primary cell walls or membrane between the adjacent cells in plants. Pits are the typical feature of the xylem, where liquid flows through the pits of the xylem cells.

Pits like cherries, apricots, peaches have a compound called Amygdalin, which breaks down into hydrogen cyanide. It is a dangerous compound when ingested. The Pits had never placed in a mixer or crusher for consumption. There are two types of Pits, Simple Pits and the other had Bordered Pits. An individual cannot eat Pit alone, which is poisonous to the body. Sometimes Pits are used for planting.

Main Differences Between Seeds and Pits

  • Seed is a part of a seed plant, where a new plant development occurs. In contrast, Pits are just a part of the fruit that protects the seeds.
  • Seeds are available in plants and food products, where we can observe Pits in the human body, plants, food products.
  • Seeds can eat by humans but, Pits are dangerous to eat.
  • Seeds contain healthy fats, proteins, fibre, minerals like magnesium, zinc, plant iron, calcium and vitamins like B1, B2, B3 and vitamin E, where Pits contains a compound called Amygdalin that breaks down into hydrogen cyanide which is dangerous for the human body.
  • First, seeds had noticed nearly 400 million years ago. On the other hand, Pits had observed one billion years ago. There are 4 types of seeds, where pits are of two kinds.
