The pixel density of the display is high, giving the smartphone one of the best-detailed display in the industry. The display is special as it can efficiently prolong the life of the battery. Last year, this was one of the key features that made this phone shine over its other rivals. Although the display is efficient in this model, the phone seems to have a bit of a subdued tone which might have been caused due to the layers that are present to give the display, a Shatter-Shield protection.

Interface

The interface comes with the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 version. It would have been a better choice to power up the device with the latest Android marshmallow 6.0 like some of the new phones that arrived recently. Anyway, it still comes with the same user experience as portrayed by many unique Droid Turbo devices. The interface is much similar to the Moto X Pure Edition where we were able to launch the camera app by twisting the phone twice.

Performance

The power under the hood is provided by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC. This processor is responsive as well as smooth when running applications simultaneously. The model comes is 32GB and 64GB; the storage can be expanded with the use of a microSD card.

Camera

The rear camera comes with a 21 MP resolution that features an aperture of f/2.0. It also comes with a dual tone flash LED, which brightens up the image in low light conditions. The front camera comes with a 5MP resolution with is ample detail for a selfie. Although the twist on the phone to launch the camera is a cool feature, still the camera app lacks many essential features that are present in today’s smartphones. Nowadays every smartphone come in larger versions but the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 cannot be considered an oversized version by any means. But this phone has a large screen which makes it the ideal phone in regards to making use of the size in an effective manner. The key benefit that Samsung Galaxy Note 5 provides over its other rivals is the S Pen which is being developed with every version of Galaxy Note smartphones. Design

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is a masterpiece. It comprises of a metal body and comes with a glass back which gives the phone a premium look. There is a slight curve on the edges that come with the glass which makes the phone more comfortable to hold. The buttons have also been placed in a manner that they are easier to reach and handle. If the phone is viewed from the side, it could be easily mistaken for an iPhone or a Samsung Galaxy S6. The glass back has its disadvantages as well. It sometimes feels slippery in the hand which might cause a risk of falling. It also attracts fingerprints, which need to be wiped out if you want your phone to look crystal clear.

S- Pen

The S Pen is placed on the bottom of the phone. The S Pen can be popped out easily with the use of an eject button. The S Pen is also sleek and stylish and comes with a button that can be clicked. A special feature of this edition is, even if the phone is turned off, the S Pen can be used to write something down. This is a new feature with the release of the Samsung Note 5. There is no need to unlock the phone or open up an app in order to write a quick note down. The black screen can be used to draw or write anything which is a convenient feature.

When there is a need to jot down an urgent phone number or sketch an idea that pop into your mind before you forget it, this will be an ideal place for such a feature. The smoothness of the S Pen is so much that it will feel like writing on paper with a pen. The fluidity of the S Pen is also great. We can easily use it to draw a sketch which is filled with detail and control. It also makes it easy to mark PDFs and make edits save relevant parts in a folder with the use of the S Pen. The Air Command also has been enhanced which blurs the background to show the app options that are available in a clear manner.

The S Pen is capable of changing this smart device into a canvas, notepad, and a sketch book. This is the tool that makes Samsung Galaxy Note 5 a better device than the other phablets in the market.

Performance

The device is powered by eight cores with the Samsung’s own Exynos processor. The memory of the device is 4GB of RAM, which is ample space for multitasking. The device has a built-in storage of 32GB and 64GB. The only downside of the storage part is the lack of micro SD support for the phone which has led to criticism.

The display of the Note 5 has a size of 5.7 inches which is a Quad HD screen with  a supported resolution of 2560 X1440.

The capacity of the battery stands at 3000mAh, which can be charged in the standard and quickly. It also comes with wireless charging features which have been recently introduced to the phone industry.  The phone is able to charge fast and can reach full charge in no time. The smaller battery makes the phone last for a day but too much to ask more from this phone. Even with heavy usage, the battery will last for a day, which is a vast improvement. It’s worthy to note that the battery on the Note 5 is smaller than that of the Note 4 which is a bit of a surprise. Another notable aspect is that the battery cannot be removed.

Features

A single press will enable the user to unlock the phone as well as make mobile payment with the use of a fingerprint scanner for added security. It is quick and responsive only second to the Apple Touch ID by a mere margin.

Camera

The rear camera has a resolution of 16 MP for added detail. It  is able to perform well in a variety of lighting conditions. Outdoor shots will be the best while indoor shots will lose a bit of quality due to the artificial lights. The front-facing camera has a resolution of 5 megapixels which is great for selfie shots.

Another feature that has been introduced with the Note 5 is the live broadcasting feature with is done through YouTube. This can be done without the actual need of a dedicated app which is a great feature.

Samsung Pay

Although this feature is not yet available everywhere, it is a key feature which come with the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. With the use of MST Technology, it operates as a credit card, allowing payments via the phone. This can be done without even an NFC wireless payment system. As with Apple Pay, Samsung Pay will also be able to operate everywhere.
