What is Jet Airways?

Jet Airways is an Indian International airline, now based in Delhi along with a training and faculty centre in Mumbai. Its main hub is in Mumbai, India. The airways had a passenger market share of 21.2% in the year 2016. In the 2017-18 fiscal year, it earned 252 billion dollars.

The airline first became a limited corporation company in April 1992 and started as an air taxi operator in the year 1993. The operations began from the year 1995 and in the year 2004, they started their international flights to different destinations. Air Sahara was the popular flight which make recognition among the people in 2005 and 2007.

Jet Airways started to lower the ticket fares, to give competition to the leading competitors, but this led to a decline in overall performance and financial losses. This idea of Jet Airways failed badly and was brought to second place in October 2017, with a decline in (17.5%) passenger market share. The financial loss resulted in bankruptcy in the year 2019. It stopped all the operations in April 2019 but is now having a comeback and restart operations by the initial 2022.

    Indigo airways were founded by Rahul Bhatia and Rakesh Gangwal in 2006. Indigo has its fundamental hub at IGI Airport, Delhi. The first delivery began in July 2006 and started operating aircraft after a month.

    The airline became the largest Indian airways to carry a maximum number of passengers than others in 2012. The corporation was available for the public in November 2015. Indigo is known for its on-time arrival. Since, August 2016, has grown from one plane to 282 aircrafts today.

    Indigo’s performance in passenger load factor, PAX, cash reserves, minimal debt, on-time-performance, and other areas have made it quite impressive. Indigo was widely seen as the true winner because of the Jet airways debt issue; however, it appears that a huge wind has blown against Indigo as well.
